One correction before you plan: the $5 Saturday-morning drop-in at Kay Arena that this guide carried through 2025/26 has no source. The City of Moncton's own page for the Crossman Community Centre lists a gym, an ice surface and a walking track, and no badminton at all, so it is gone from every part of this guide. Dieppe's free CCNB badminton ran on Mondays and Wednesdays, not Fridays, and its season ended on May 27, 2026; nothing has been posted for autumn 2026.

The branch with the fuller badminton schedule: four blocks a week for ages 12 and up plus an adults-only badminton slot in the retained summer timetable. The times below are the Summer 2026 schedule, June 22 to September 8, 2026, which the Y marks as subject to change without notice. The summer schedule has ended. Use the current YMCA schedule before planning an autumn visit; no replacement timetable is claimed here.

Correction: earlier versions of this guide gave a phone number for this branch and described a "Spring 2026" schedule. Neither could be found on the Y's pages, so both are gone; the 12+ and 18+ split it described is confirmed on the summer schedule.

The branch earlier versions of this guide missed entirely. Its Summer 2026 schedule (June 22 to September 8) has two badminton blocks, both late in the evening and both for ages 12 and up: Tuesday 8:15–9:50 PM and Thursday 8:15–9:50 PM. There is no adults-only block here. It is the branch with the longer opening hours.

Dieppe · Free · No registration · Mondays and Wednesdays, October to May

The only free badminton in Greater Moncton, and it is seasonal. The City of Dieppe's calendar shows the 2025–26 season ran from October 1, 2025 to May 27, 2026, on Mondays and Wednesdays only, in the gym at CCNB Dieppe. Each evening had two sessions: 14 and under at 6:00 PM and 15 and over at 7:15 PM. The calendar publishes start times only; the 7:30 PM and 8:45 PM finish times that appeared in earlier versions of this guide are not on it, and neither are the Friday sessions we listed. It was Monday and Wednesday all season.

The terms, in the City's own words: free and open to all, no registration required, a rotation system so everyone gets a turn, bring your own rackets and birdies, supervised by a City of Dieppe employee, and children aged 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult of 18 or older. Sessions were cancelled on statutory holidays, over the holiday break, and in poor weather.

As of August 25, 2026 nothing is posted for September or October 2026. Last season's first date was October 1, so the honest status is "not yet announced" rather than cancelled. Watch the Dieppe events calendar from late September; the City's autumn registration listings are all aquatics, and the Dieppe Aquatic and Sports Centre itself has no gym programme, so the calendar is the only place this will appear.

This guide, and most others for Moncton, used to send you to Kay Arena for a cash Saturday-morning drop-in and describe a weekday club that played there by invitation. We can no longer stand behind any of it. The City of Moncton's own page for the Crossman Community Centre at 99 Wynwood Dr lists the ice surface, a middle-school-sized gymnasium, a walking track and meeting rooms, and links to a booking form. It mentions no badminton, no drop-in and no price, and neither does any other City page we could find. If a group does play there, it is a private rental, not a public session. Front desk 506-877-7715 if you want to ask; rentals go through the City's booking form.

The cheapest confirmed badminton in the city. Moncton Cares runs a community sports programme with badminton drop-ins among its activities, open to newcomers to Moncton and Canada, permanent residents and citizens, refugees and international students, and local community members of all backgrounds. The price is $5 per activity. Its online checkout sells a 10-session Community Pass for $30; the programme page still describes an 8-session pass for $24, which is what earlier versions of this guide quoted, but the pass you can buy is the $30 one.

The catch is the schedule. Moncton Cares publishes no fixed day, time or gym on its website. Each week it posts the schedule and locations on its Facebook page, so you check there before every session. Nothing about the programme is age-banded on the page.

Correction: the Facebook link earlier versions of this guide carried matched none of the three Facebook addresses the organisation itself publishes, so we have removed it and point you to the programme page instead.

Earlier versions of this guide listed this club as "BNNB-registered" and pointed to a Badminton New Brunswick club directory for contact details. That directory does not exist: the address we linked serves the BNNB homepage, and nothing on bnnb.ca names a club in Moncton or anywhere else. We could find no website, no schedule and no venue for the club. If you know it and it is still meeting, tell us and we will verify it. Until then, adults wanting regular club-style play in Moncton have Moncton Cares, the YMCA's 18+ Sunday block, and CEPS.

Where Games Get Organised

The only building in Moncton with badminton courts you can reserve. The CEPS booking system lists Badminton 1 and Badminton 2 in Gym A as bookable resources alongside pickleball, tennis and racquetball courts, and the 2026 admission sheet gives a public day pass, so an adult can walk in and pay without any affiliation. What is not published is the court-booking rule: the reservation page needs a login and a CEPS member number, and the university's own CEPS pages have carried an "under update" notice that redirects everything to the phone. So the day pass gets you in the door; whether a day-pass holder can hold a badminton court, for how long, and how far ahead, is a phone call.

Correction: earlier versions of this guide gave a seasonal hours table, a two-day online booking window for members and a "five minutes before" walk-in rule for non-members, and no price. None of those rules appears on any CEPS page today; the fee sheet gives one set of hours year-round and a $14 day pass. The rules are gone from this guide until CEPS publishes them.

Lewisville Middle School · Registration only · Grades 5–12

The region's coached youth club, for students in Grades 5 to 12 from South-East New Brunswick, streamed into Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Elite groups. It runs four 14-class sessions a season from September to June, and registration is online through the club site at any time during the season. There is no drop-in and no adult programme; a parent cannot walk a child in on the night.
