For adult badminton in Greater Moncton, choose whether you need organised games, a drop-in group, or a court for your own partners. Badminton House Club organises games by level at Lewisville Middle School. The YMCA, Moncton Cares and CEPS offer other routes with different booking and admission conditions. Dieppe posts recreational badminton as dated event listings; Riverview enquiries need a little more checking.

Organised Club Sessions
Badminton House Club — adult badminton at Lewisville
Badminton House Club is our own adult club at Lewisville Middle School, 45 McAuley Drive, Moncton. The usual sessions are Fridays, 7–9 pm and Sundays, 2–4 pm, at $7.50 CAD per person, per session. There is no membership or season fee. Use the dated booking options to confirm availability.
The gym has 6 courts and club sessions are capped at 30 players. We organise games and match players by level, so you can book without bringing a partner. A pair can ask at check-in for practice time when a club court is free. Each person needs a place in the session; practice depends on court availability.
Book and pay online to reserve your spot. Walk-ins may pay $7.50 CAD at the door in cash or by e-transfer if spots remain. Players who booked online get their spot first. Read the first-session walkthrough for arrival and check-in.
Recreation Centres and Municipal Programmes
The YMCA hours and schedules page now links fall timetables for September 8 to December 13, 2026, separately for Vaughan Harvey and Moncton North. Open the relevant branch’s timetable for badminton times and age restrictions. General building hours are not badminton hours. The expired summer slots previously reproduced here have been removed.
The current hub also confirms that non-members aged 18 and over must show government photo ID, and all non-members have a photo taken before entering. Confirm pass prices when visiting; the detailed fee information below retains its original research date.
YMCA pass and membership pricing (effective May 1, 2026)
Day pass, 18 and up: $20 ($23 after tax) · Day pass, 6 months to 17 years: $13.50 ($15.53) · Youth day pass, ages 12–18, Fridays and Saturdays only: $4.35 ($5 after tax), in partnership with the City of Moncton · Week pass: $42.50 ($48.88) · Month pass: $85 ($97.75)
Continuous membership, billed every two weeks: adult 18+ $30.40 ($34.96 after tax) · youth 13–17 $24.80 ($28.52) · child 12 and under $20.10 · student $25.84 ($29.72) · couple $52 · family $61 ($70.15). Any membership that includes an adult pays a $40 joiner fee ($46 after tax). No contract; memberships can be put on hold for 4, 8 or 12 weeks at no charge.
Financial assistance: the Y subsidises membership and programme fees for people who are unable, not unwilling, to pay. Apply in person at the Membership Services desk with proof of income; decisions take 2–3 business days and last 3–6 months. Everyone pays some portion, so there is no free tier.
YMCA of Greater Moncton — Moncton North
70 Twin Oaks Drive. Use the Moncton North programme PDF on the current schedule page. Confirm the badminton block, age band and any exceptions before buying admission. If you are arriving alone, ask how players join games during that block.
YMCA of Greater Moncton — Vaughan Harvey
30 War Veterans Avenue. The Vaughan Harvey programme timetable is a separate document on the same official hub. Do not use a Moncton North time for this branch. Adult non-member identification requirements apply at both locations.
City of Dieppe — Recreational Badminton
The City of Dieppe homepage listed recreational badminton when we checked on October 7, 2026, for 14 years and under and 15 years and over. This replaces the earlier “autumn not announced” status. Adults should look in its Events section for the older age-group entry on their intended date.
We could read the current event listings but could not retrieve their detail pages. Confirm the gym, start and end time, fee, registration, equipment and holiday or weather exceptions with the City at 506-877-7900 before travelling. A listing confirms that an event was advertised; it does not establish all of its access conditions.
For context, our earlier source check documented free sessions at CCNB Dieppe, 505 Collège Street, during the October 1, 2025 to May 27, 2026 season. Those historical terms, times and venue are not presented as the conditions of the new listings.
Riverview — Where to Check and Who to Ask
On October 7, 2026, we found no public badminton programme listed on the Town of Riverview programmes page. That is a finding about the published directory, not proof that nobody plays in Riverview. Private gym rentals or community groups may have separate arrangements.
Ask Parks, Recreation and Community Relations at 506-387-2024 or recadmin@townofriverview.ca: “Is there an adult badminton drop-in or a group accepting new players? Which gym, dates and registration contact should I use?” Ask whether a solo player can join, not just whether a building has a gym.
If there is no suitable local listing, compare the confirmed options elsewhere in Greater Moncton. Badminton House welcomes adults from Riverview and Dieppe; choose a dated session that fits your journey. For children’s activity-fee support, Riverview’s programme page links its PRO Kids programme.
Kay Arena / Crossman Community Centre — Verify a Specific Session
Our August 25, 2026 check of the City’s facility page found a gym, ice surface, walking track and meeting rooms, but no advertised badminton drop-in or price. We withdrew this guide’s unsupported Saturday-morning drop-in claim. If you have heard of a group there, ask the facility about that specific organiser and date rather than assuming a public session.
Community Clubs and Social Groups
Moncton Cares confirms badminton on its website and publishes a per-session price. The adult club that used to sit in this section could not be traced to any source, so it is recorded below as a gap rather than a recommendation.
Moncton Cares — Community Sports Drop-Ins

A community option with a per-session fee. Moncton Cares runs a community sports programme with badminton drop-ins among its activities, open to newcomers to Moncton and Canada, permanent residents and citizens, refugees and international students, and local community members of all backgrounds. The price is $5 per activity. Its online checkout sells a 10-session Community Pass for $30; the programme page still describes an 8-session pass for $24, which is what earlier versions of this guide quoted, but the pass you can buy is the $30 one.
The catch is the schedule. Moncton Cares publishes no fixed day, time or gym on its website. Each week it posts the schedule and locations on its Facebook page, so you check there before every session. Nothing about the programme is age-banded on the page.

"South East NB Adults Badminton Club" — cannot be verified
UNVERIFIEDEarlier versions of this guide listed this club as "BNNB-registered" and pointed to a Badminton New Brunswick club directory for contact details. That directory does not exist: the address we linked serves the BNNB homepage, and nothing on bnnb.ca names a club in Moncton or anywhere else. We could find no website, no schedule and no venue for the club. If you know it and it is still meeting, tell us and we will verify it. For adult play, compare the options in this guide according to your level and need for partners.
How to Join Badminton in Moncton When You Arrive Alone
Before booking or travelling, ask the organiser three practical questions: “Do I need to bring a partner? Who puts the games together? Is this session suitable for my level?” An available court does not answer those questions.
At Badminton House, tell us your level when booking and introduce yourself at check-in; we organise the games. At a participant-led session, ask how newcomers join a court or rotation. At CEPS, arrange your own partners and confirm the court booking conditions. For Moncton Cares and Dieppe, confirm the current session’s joining instructions with the organiser.

University Badminton
CEPS Louis-J.-Robichaud — Université de Moncton
UNIVERSITYCampus · $14 day pass, taxes included · 2 bookable badminton courts
CEPS lists badminton courts in its public facility booking system. The CEPS booking system lists Badminton 1 and Badminton 2 in Gym A as bookable resources alongside pickleball, tennis and racquetball courts, and the 2026 admission sheet gives a public day pass, so an adult can walk in and pay without any affiliation. What is not published is the court-booking rule: the reservation page needs a login and a CEPS member number, and the university's own CEPS pages have carried an "under update" notice that redirects everything to the phone. So the day pass gets you in the door; whether a day-pass holder can hold a badminton court, for how long, and how far ahead, is a phone call.

Correction: earlier versions of this guide gave a seasonal hours table, a two-day online booking window for members and a "five minutes before" walk-in rule for non-members, and no price. None of those rules appears on any CEPS page today; the fee sheet gives one set of hours year-round and a $14 day pass. The rules are gone from this guide until CEPS publishes them.

Lessons and Junior Training
The youth programme below is separate from our adult club. For adult coaching availability, contact Badminton House through the club page; do not assume a drop-in booking includes a lesson.
Moncton Badminton Club (MBC)

The region's coached youth club, for students in Grades 5 to 12 from South-East New Brunswick, streamed into Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Elite groups. It runs four 14-class sessions a season from September to June, and registration is online through the club site at any time during the season. There is no drop-in and no adult programme; a parent cannot walk a child in on the night.

Correction: earlier versions of this guide said "check current registration" for the price when the club publishes $195 for its first 2026/27 block, gave a street address the club does not publish, described a Summer 2026 beginner league that has ended, and attributed the head coach's training to two named Olympic coaches. That lineage is not on the club's site, so it is gone.

Badminton New Brunswick has published its 2026–27 calendar, and seven of its events are in Moncton, all at the Université de Moncton gym or École Le Sommet on Ryan Road:

A BNNB membership is required for players, umpires and coaches at any provincial or national event, and the earliest entry deadline on the calendar was September 1, 2026. The September and October 3 events have already been played; the Atlantic Series in December and the Atlantic Championships in June 2027 remain. The membership fee is not published on bnnb.ca: members are sent to Badminton Canada's registration system, where the price sits behind a login. The $30 provincial and $45 national figures, with injury insurance, that earlier versions of this guide quoted could not be found on either site, so they are withdrawn. A provincial championship that "rotates between Moncton and Saint John" is not on the 2026–27 calendar either. Entering your first event?
